Different crafting mediums, methods and materials can affect glitter in different ways. Please take a moment to read the information below before using your sparkle. 💕
✨ Testing Your Glitter
We test our glitters in solution; however, we cannot guarantee that every glitter will perform in the same way in every medium or application.
Resins, adhesives, liquids and other crafting products can contain different ingredients, and results may vary depending on the products and methods you use.
We always recommend carrying out a small test with your chosen glitter and medium before starting your finished project.
This is especially important if you are using a new glitter, medium or technique for the first time.
🌈 Colour, Tinting & Bleeding
Some coloured glitters may tint, bleed or transfer colour when used in certain liquids or mediums.
The likelihood and extent of this can vary depending on the glitter, medium, temperature, length of contact and application method.
Testing a small amount beforehand is the best way to check whether the combination is suitable for your project.
✨ Colour & Appearance
We do our best to photograph our glitters as accurately as possible so you can see their colour, finish and sparkle.
However, glitter can look different depending on:
- Lighting conditions
- Screen and device settings
- The colour underneath the glitter
- The medium it is mixed with
- The angle at which the light catches it
Holographic, iridescent and colour-shifting glitters in particular can appear very different as the light changes — that's part of their sparkle! ✨
🕯️ Candles, Wax Melts & Heat
If you choose to use our glitter in candles, wax melts or other applications involving heat, you are responsible for checking that the product and your intended method are suitable and safe for that application.
Please carry out appropriate testing and follow the safety guidance provided by the manufacturers of the other materials you are using.
The Glitter Chest does not test or certify its craft glitters for use in candles or other applications involving direct flame.

Unless a product is specifically stated otherwise on its individual product page, our glitter is sold for craft and decorative use.
Our craft glitter is not recommended for application to the face, skin or hair.
Please keep glitter away from the eyes and avoid inhalation or ingestion.
Keep products safely stored and out of reach of children and pets.
